PUPNUDGE
Kindness is the starting point.
Educational tools have limits. Recognising those limits is part of good care.
Training approach
We aim to use reward-based approaches and to avoid intimidation, pain or equipment intended to cause discomfort. The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommends reward-based training. Our own lesson drafts are not represented as reviewed simply because they reference that guidance.
When to pause
If a dog shows signs of pain, sudden behavioural change, aggression, injury or serious distress, stop the self-guided exercise and seek appropriate professional support. Do not provoke a behaviour to record it.
Urgent concerns
For immediate illness or injury, call a local veterinary practice or emergency hospital. This website, its forms and its future AI features do not monitor emergencies or provide diagnoses.
Children and other animals
Do not use children or other animals as training test subjects. Obtain individual professional help when there is a risk of injury.
