The 30-visit price needs an expiry date in writing
Dog Dayz at 3000 West 2nd Street, Wilmington, DE 19805 lists a $35 full day for one dog, Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Its ten-day pass costs $300 and is marked valid for 90 days. Ten separate $35 days would cost $350: the pass saves $50 only if you use all ten eligible visits within its terms.
Read the rates page closely before buying more. The 30-day pass costs $750 and is specifically marked valid for 30 days, although a general note below says passes last 90 days. Call 302-655-5506 to confirm the expiry and treatment of unused visits in writing.
The facility is closed Saturdays and Sundays. Published terms also list a 4% credit-card processing fee, a full-day charge for cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice and $1 per minute after 7 p.m.
For an irregular work schedule, write down likely attendance before comparing packages. If you can only name six dates, the ten-visit price is a commitment to find four more suitable visits, not proof of a saving. Ask how reservations, absences and any closure days affect the pass before paying.
Buy after the interview, not before knowing the dog can attend
Dog Dayz's admission process requires an application, a reserved in-person interview with the owner and dog, and a temperament test carrying a $15 nonrefundable fee. Attendance follows acceptance; finding a price online does not complete enrollment.
Its published eligibility starts at five months old, with a puppy exception to the neutering requirement until seven months. It also requires current DHLPP, Bordetella and rabies vaccinations and suitable behavior around people, other dogs, toys and space. Discuss your dog's records and behavior with the staff rather than treating these short descriptions as approval.
Explain any guarding, difficulty resting around other dogs or distress when separated from you. The useful outcome of the interview is a suitable care plan. If group care does not fit, ask about alternatives instead of purchasing enough sessions to try to make the dog fit the package.
A Saturday lesson is a separate booking
Humane Animal Partners' Happy Tails Dog Training Academy offers a six-week program at 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, with classes listed on Saturdays from noon to 1 p.m. Tuition is $450; the $150 enrollment payment is one third of that total, not the whole course price.
Dogs must be at least six months old, meet the published vaccination requirements and pass an initial suitability assessment. Pre-enrollment is required. Check the training page and ask [email protected] for the next actual course dates. HAP adopters are directed to contact trainer Ben Touchton before enrolling.
This is learning time for you and your dog, not a replacement for weekend daycare. Plan to attend, practice between meetings and describe the everyday situations you want help handling. A Saturday time on a standing information page does not establish a space in a particular course.
At Newport Pike, ask about medication charges and weekend handovers
CareVet of Newport Pike lists boarding at 1212 East Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804. Its basic, deluxe and premium dog options start at $45, $55 and $65 per night respectively, with a listed $5-per-night peak-date addition. Call 302-652-6587 for your dates and the dog's admission requirements.
The boarding menu needs clarification if your dog takes medication: the basic description includes medication except injections, while another line lists a medication-per-dose fee. Obtain a single written quote for your dog's actual instructions. Likewise, confirm exit-bath charges by size rather than relying on the lowest figure in the menu.
The published deposit is 50% of the stay, with cancellation terms that change as arrival approaches. Read those terms before paying. Ask when you can drop off and collect on your actual travel dates: the listed hospital office hours show weekend closure and a weekday lunch break, which does not settle the boarding handover arrangement.
Use the designated off-leash area, not the whole park
Wilmington identifies three off-leash locations: Rockford Park near Red Oak Road and Park Drive, and two in Brandywine Park near South Park Drive and North Adams Street and West 18th Street and North Monroe Street. Its dog-park information requires leashes elsewhere in Wilmington parks and asks owners to collect dog waste.
Check the signs and boundaries at the particular entrance. This research has not established the current fence condition, water supply or closure notices at those areas. If you need a secure enclosure, confirm that feature before planning an off-leash visit. A named off-leash location alone does not tell you what will contain a dog that wanders.
Book grooming at Windcrest separately from emergency care
Windcrest Animal Hospital's grooming information describes a basic service including a bath, drying, breed clip, nails and ear cleaning, alongside a brush-out service. Pricing depends on time spent, with possible extra charges for matted or difficult coats; a numeric haircut quote is not published there.
Call 302-998-2995 with the dog's coat condition and requested finish, and confirm the grooming appointment and pickup time. The hospital's emergency opening hours do not establish round-the-clock grooming appointments.
For an emergency, save Windcrest Animal Hospital, 3705 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805, the same telephone number and directions. Its contact page lists emergency and urgent care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. The separate general-practice closure list does not mean that emergency service closes on those holidays. Call about the current situation when possible.
