Use the October 2026 park notice, not the older $24 FAQ

Monroe County's dog-park page announces a $30-per-dog membership price from October 1, 2026, with a $26 renewal offer for applications submitted October 1–December 31, 2026. A lower FAQ still says $24. Use the dated announcement when budgeting and confirm whether you qualify as a renewal.

The county says registrations processed after October 1, 2026 cover both 2026 and 2027. New members submit registration and agreement forms plus copies of the municipal dog license and veterinary rabies certificate; metal tags do not replace those documents. Apply online or through the parks office at 171 Reservoir Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620.

Online review can take five business days, with additional mailing time after approval. Required access items include the swipe card, dog tag and paper permit. Applying on a morning you want to visit does not promise admission that afternoon.

Make the first visit after the paperwork is complete and after checking notices for your chosen park. Registration is an access step; it does not tell you whether the dogs present, weather or ground conditions will suit your dog.

Elmgrove Road's daycare currently accepts small dogs, not large dogs

Pet Spa Paws & Play, 744 Elmgrove Road, Rochester, NY 14624, currently states that its daycare cannot accept large dogs and has openings for small dogs. Ask 585-764-7297 how it defines the size category and assesses suitability; the notice is not approval for a particular dog.

The daycare page lists Tuesday–Friday, 7 a.m.–6:30 p.m. A standard day is $37 plus tax and a half day $25 plus tax. The wording puts five hours in both categories, so confirm how your exact arrival and pickup times will be billed.

This is not a Monday or weekend solution on the published schedule. If your work pattern varies, settle which days the dog can attend before buying a package. A daytime service near a convenient route still needs to match your actual care gap.

Saturday haircut availability differs from Saturday bath availability

The same business's salon page describes a full groom including a bath, haircut when needed, brushing, ears and a basic nail clip. It quotes by size, coat, condition, handling and time. Call the grooming number, 585-429-7387, rather than assuming the daycare line books the salon.

Weekday appointments are described for Tuesday–Friday, with no appointments after 5 p.m. Saturday bath-and-brush availability is broader than haircut or trimming availability; the salon asks clients to rebook during their visit to secure limited Saturday haircut appointments. Confirm your service and date before planning around a Saturday slot.

A separately scheduled private grooming room is listed at an additional $15, with no other dogs in the room during that groom. If that would help your dog, discuss the arrangement when booking. It is an environmental option, not a guarantee that grooming distress or a medical concern will be resolved.

The Saturday puppy course starts with you, without the puppy

Bob Minchella's Dog Owner Counseling lists 2026 workshops at Dogs at Play, 75 Howell Street, Rochester. Its Saturday schedule gives Puppy and Basic courses at $165, with dates November 21, December 5, 12 and 19, and January 2. This is a five-meeting sequence across holidays, not five consecutive Saturdays.

The first Puppy and Basic meeting is a 10:30 a.m. lecture without dogs. Later routine times are listed separately for the two courses. Confirm your course, first-meeting instructions and actual availability at 585-288-0780 or [email protected].

The posted policy offers no refunds or makeup classes. Check every date against your travel and work calendar before enrolling. The venue's contact page notes that Howell Street is one-way off Monroe Avenue; use the venue address on the booking confirmation.

Rochester Street in Avon is a boarding destination outside the city

Christopher Robin's Pet Care is at 415 Rochester Street, Avon, NY 14414. Its rates page lists a Standard Suite at $58 per night for one dog, with separate shared-suite rates and room-size guidance. Call 585-438-3082 for the arrangement that fits your household.

Evening collection adds a half-day charge; ask for the actual amount rather than calculating it from a different service's price. The handover page lists weekdays 7–9 a.m. and 5–7 p.m., weekends 8–10 a.m. and 5–7 p.m., with certain holidays closed to pickup and drop-off. Ask how those windows affect your travel dates.

The street name does not make this a downtown Rochester facility. Plan the actual journey to Avon and agree what happens if your return is delayed. A boarder's overnight care and a reception desk's opening window are different arrangements.

Update the emergency address to East Rochester

Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services, REVS, currently lists 445 West Commercial Street, East Rochester, NY 14445, 585-775-0020, open 24/7, 365 days a year. Use its current hospital details and directions.

Older referral lists still show University Avenue or overnight-only hours. Save the current details in the instructions you leave with a carer. Call about the situation when possible; the published schedule does not establish immediate capacity.
