Two addresses point toward Waterman Street Dog Park

The city lists 292 Waterman Street; the Waterman Street Dog Park Association lists 320 Waterman Street and describes street parking beside the entrance. Use the named park and confirm the entrance on arrival rather than assuming both listings identify an identical drop-off point. Park only in designated areas, as the city requests.

The association describes an enclosed park with a separate small-dog area and a double-gated entrance. Its rules exclude puppies under four months and dogs in heat, require a collar with identification and a current rabies tag, and limit each visitor to three dogs. Keep dogs leashed through entry and exit, then supervise them inside. Dogs with a history of aggression are prohibited; this is not a place to test whether a dog has become comfortable around unfamiliar dogs.

Both sources describe year-round access, which does not establish round-the-clock opening. Check the posted rules at the gate. City park listing; Association entrance information and rules.

A Sunday pickup needs an appointment

The Dog House, 1255 North Main Street, offers overnight boarding throughout the year by advance reservation. New dogs must pass an evaluation, have the required vaccination records and be crate trained for overnight stays. An evaluation is a step to arrange before the departure day.

The boarding page sets weekday handovers at 7:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Weekend arrivals and departures are by appointment within 10–11 a.m. or 5–6 p.m. Those windows matter for a return trip: getting back to Providence on Sunday afternoon does not create an all-afternoon pickup service.

The separate rate page lists $65 per night, including sales tax, until noon the following day. Ask how a Sunday evening pickup would be billed before comparing a stay total. Weekday daycare is included for boarders, but that does not answer every late-checkout question. The owner reports living above the facility and being on the premises around the clock, with camera monitoring at night; ask about the overnight response arrangement if your dog needs particular attention. Boarding requirements and appointments; Published rates.

Educational daycare is a commitment to a recurring group

At Crossbones Dog Academy, 189 Swan Street, Educational Daycare requires attendance at least three days per week. Its stated purpose is to maintain existing manners while providing play, enrichment and a consistent group. Crated nap time is part of the described day.

That structure deserves a different decision from “I need somebody this Friday.” Before applying, decide whether you can maintain the weekly schedule and whether the dog can settle during crate breaks. Ask for the current program price, minimum enrollment term, absence policy and evaluation requirements at 401-330-5892.

The site distinguishes program drop-off, 7–9 a.m., from weekday lobby hours, 3–6:30 p.m. An administrative opening time is not the whole care schedule. Confirm the handover times assigned to your program. Educational Daycare description.

More intensive training does not mean broader eligibility

Crossbones separately describes five- and eight-week Intensive Training Programs for dogs over six months. Dogs work at the academy Monday through Thursday, followed by coaching for owners to maintain the training. Do not read the program length as an overnight boarding reservation.

These programs are for friendly, non-aggressive dogs comfortable resting in a crate. The academy explicitly says they do not address fear, anxiety or aggression in these programs. It lists behavior consulting and Reactive Recovery separately, and directs owners of puppies under six months to its puppy-training information.

When making an inquiry, describe the actual difficulty—such as barking at approaching dogs or being unable to rest away from home—before selecting a program by duration. Get the proposed format, owner participation and full quote in writing. Program scope and exclusions.

A haircut can be coordinated with care, but still needs its own booking

The Barking Lot, 697 Allens Avenue, offers grooming by appointment, including haircuts and breed-specific styling. Its grooming page says an appointment can coincide with the last day of boarding. Confirm that a groomer is available on your actual collection date before treating the two bookings as one arrangement.

The salon asks owners to call for services and prices at 401-781-2275. It also lists vaccination requirements, including rabies, parvo, distemper and Bordetella, with puppies required to have completed their puppy vaccination rounds. Ask which records to send and describe the coat, requested cut and any handling difficulties when requesting a quote. Grooming services and requirements; Providence contact details.

Keep an emergency destination beyond the city boundary

Ocean State Veterinary Specialists is at 1480 South County Trail, East Greenwich, RI 02818, outside Providence. It lists 24-hour emergency care, 365 days a year. Save 401-886-6787 with the address and call for arrival guidance when seeking emergency care.

A 24-hour service listing does not establish a current waiting time or a specialist appointment. Give the receiving team your location and the reason for the call so they can advise on the next step. Hospital location and hours; Emergency service.
