The city’s dog-park listing describes a members’ facility
Manchester’s official page says its dog park is privately operated by the Manchester Dog Park Association and that membership is required to use it. It places the park on Bass Island along Second Street, south of Granite Street and north of Queen City Avenue, with access from dawn to dusk.
A fenced park listed on a city website is therefore not necessarily a walk-in option for a visitor. Contact [email protected] about the application, current fee, required records and access arrangements before planning a visit. The city description does not establish a current membership price or instant visitor entry. City dog-park description and membership requirement.
Check the age limit before choosing group or individual care
The Dog Club, 50 Gay Street, says it cannot accept dogs over 12 years of age for either daycare or boarding. An individual-play option does not remove that age restriction. For an older dog, settle eligibility before organizing an evaluation or paying for a package.
For dogs it can assess, an initial temperament test helps determine full group play, partial group play or individual play. The individual format means time with a staff member rather than with other dogs. Ask what activity and rest schedule would be proposed for your dog. Play formats, assessment and age restriction.
The rate page distinguishes daycare from day board: a full daycare day is $35, while a full day board is $40. Half-day rates are $28 and $33 respectively, for five hours or less. Confirm the booked category and collection time at 603-606-1348; the labels are not interchangeable simply because both cover time away from home. Separate rate categories.
Pack portions, not just a bag of food
The Dog Club lists a standard boarding room at $55 per night. Its boarding description includes daycare or private play sessions with the room. Confirm the appropriate play format and the full stay quote, including any applicable charges, before reserving.
The food instructions ask owners to bring meals pre-bagged. Staff measuring portions attracts a $2-per-day surcharge under the published policy; wet food is exempt from the pre-bagging request, but staff still need portion instructions. For a dog eating morning and evening dry meals, label separate portions rather than assuming a bulk food bag meets that requirement. Boarding inclusions and meal instructions; Nightly room rates.
Ten Day School visits do not mean ten consecutive weekdays
DownTown Canine, 55 Calef Road, lists Day School at $600, including ten days of daycare and staff-led training plus a private lesson at the end. Its stated Day School days are Tuesday and Thursday; ordinary daycare runs Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–6 p.m.
Plan around the actual training days and ask how absences or holidays affect completion. The final owner lesson is part of the described service, so reserve time to attend it and learn how to continue the work at home. Contact 603-656-9991 for placement and scheduling.
The same site lists private training separately, with a $150–$500 range. That range does not define a per-hour price or a fixed number of lessons. Ask for the scope and total for the proposed service rather than treating it as a directly comparable ten-day package. Program contents, prices and weekly schedule.
A haircut needs a personalized quote at Sheffield Road
All Dogs Gym & Inn, 505 Sheffield Road, offers full grooming with bathing, drying, brushing, nail and ear work, plus breed-related trimming. Its pricing page calls for a personalized grooming quote rather than a universal haircut price.
Describe the dog’s size, coat condition and desired cut at 603-669-4644. Its grooming FAQ says rabies is the required vaccination and leaves other vaccination decisions to owners and their veterinarians. Confirm what documentation the salon wants for your appointment; another Manchester facility’s record list is not automatically this salon’s policy.
The pricing page also asks for grooming cancellation at least 48 hours ahead to avoid a charge equal to the appointment cost. Get that appointment cost confirmed when booking. Full-groom scope and records; Quotes and cancellation policy.
Save the hospital’s current Brown Avenue address
Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester lists its address as 2743 Brown Avenue, Manchester, NH 03103, with phone 603-666-6677. Its current website states that the hospital is staffed around the clock, 365 days a year, including holidays.
Store the address with the number and call for arrival guidance when seeking emergency care. Use the hospital’s current details when checking a map listing, particularly if an older saved contact points elsewhere. Hospital address, telephone and emergency availability.
